For all of our horror movie fans out there, we’re sure you have already heard that the 1978 fan favorite “Halloween” is being rebooted this year – but what you might not know is the remake is being filmed right here in Charleston.
The remake of this classic movie is bringing Jamie Lee Curtis back to play her original character, Laurie Strode and in the last few days, Curtis has been spotted multiple times around the Charleston area.
She tweeted on Thursday about being on set and practicing her marksmanship for the upcoming movie. Filming for the “Halloween” movie started a few weeks ago, but Curtis did not arrive on set until earlier this week.
Early Friday morning Curtis was spotted at a local favorite, Kudu Coffee and Craft Beer, by an employee. The employee said that Curtis was not attempting to hide her identity from the other patrons and talked to a few of them.
Along with Curtis, the reboot of “Halloween” stars Rob Niter, a local actor and bodybuilder, Nick Castle, who played Michael Myers in the original movie, and director David Gordon Green, who is known for his work with “Vice Principals” and “Pineapple Express”.
Keep your eyes peeled for the release date of the new “Halloween” reboot so you can see what cool areas of Charleston they leveraged during filming.
