Five Valentine’s Day Events For Charleston Singles

Worried about spending Valentine’s Day alone? Have no fear, there are plenty of fun Valentine’s Day events for Charleston singles happening this Thursday.

Here are five events you can enjoy alone or with a group of friends:

Cupid is Stupid: Anti-Valentine’s Day Party

Hang out with other Charleston singles at The Brick’s anti-Valentine’s Day party from 9 pm to 2 am on Valentine’s Day. The motto of the party is”screw love” and they’re welcoming all people who share the motto. They’ll have color-coded cups for each partier depending on their interest in mingling with others, music by DJ Mikey Lee, and $0.50 wings.

Admission: Free

Galentine’s Day at Republic Garden & Lounge

Grab your best girlfriends and head to Republic for the ultimate Galentine’s Day. You can even make your own flower crown with Fetes de Fleurs from 7 pm to 9 pm during a flower crown workshop.  Tickets to the event also include one complimentary glass of champagne. Other food and drinks will be available during the party from 4 pm to 2 am.

Admission: $25

Throw Axes at your Exes Valentine’s Day Thursday Throwdown

Holding onto some anger from your last relationship? Head to Palmetto Brewing and let it out with some axe throwing with Blade and Bull Axe Throwing of Charleston. It’s all you can throw, all night for only $10 and all core brand Palmetto beers will be  $4.

Rosé on the Rooftop

The Grand Bohemian Hotel is hosting a Rosé party on the rooftop from 9 pm to 11 pm with drink specials, food, and live music. Specials include $5 Rosé vodka drinks and $20 bottles of featured Rosé wine. DJ Kaila Picard will be there all night serving the beats.

Jilted Lovers Party

Cocktail Club’s jilted lovers party is back and offering fun, drink specials, live music, and the chance to win a prize. The guest with the best (worst) jilted lovers story will win a $200 prize. The event is free, open to the public, and welcoming of anyone with the anti-Valentine’s spirit.

Admission: Free

No need for tissues this Valentine’s Day. Put the chocolate down and head out to have a fun night.

It’s that time of year again. That time when couples are loved-up and going out on dates and giving roses and chocolates. If you don’t have a sweetheart this Valentine’s Day, then all that might make you want to curl up in a ball and cry your single little heart out. But never fear, Charleston has great activities for people who aren’t coupled up. Below you’ll find some places to spend Valentine’s Day in Charleston if you’re single.

Every Wednesday night, Mellow Mushroom on King Street hosts Drag Queen Bingo, and this Valentine’s Day in Charleston is no exception. You don’t need a date to join Crystal Guysir as she calls out the numbers. What better way to forget your blues than playing bingo, eating pizza, and winning prizes?

Bay Street Biergarten

On February 16th head to Bay Street Biergarten for their Bitterness Bash. It’s one great way to spend Valentine’s Day in Charleston if you’re single. Hosted by 95sx, the party features DJ Natty Heavy spinning non-love songs. Play the “Tinder Hearts” game and become the king or queen of the Bitterness Bash. Winners will go home with a prize pack from 95sx, Bay Street Biergarten, and Guilty Pleasures.

The Royal American

On February 10th, Charleston Scene will be hosting an Anti-Valentine’s Day Bash at The Royal American. The party starts at 8:00 pm and goes until 1:00 am. The party features all women-led local bands. The bands range from Americana to smooth R&B. Shem Creek Music will be selling albums from women musicians on the patio, Commonhouse Aleworks will be offering a tase of Commonhouse beers for the first time. And if you’re in the mood to shop, Frenchie Vintage will be on the patio selling awesome antiques.

Charleston Beer Works invites you to “forget all things lovey-dovey” and party with them all night at their Anti-Valentine’s Day Party. The party is on Valentine’s Day itself, February 14th and starts at 7:00 pm. Drink specials include Jim Beam Black (neat, on the rocks, or with ginger ale), EFFEN Vodka Mules with a choice of raspberry, cucumber or blood orange vodka, and Jim Beam White, a Beam and a beer. And their shot special is Jim Beam Kentucky Fire. If you’re searching for that special someone, speed dating will start at 8:00 pm. If you’re not into that, then you can jam out to live music from Rotie Salley and get some piñata giveaways.
