Must-Try Group Fitness Classes in Charleston

Reach your fitness-related New Year’s resolutions quickly with these must-try fitness classes. You might be surprised just how much you enjoy some of these popular workouts.

CorePower Yoga

Nama-slay your next yoga class at CorePower Yoga. Offering a wide variety of classes that range in difficulty and style, CorePower can help you relax and unwind or meet your strength training goals. They are located in Mount Pleasant on Shoremeade Rd. but also have a variety of “On Demand” yoga classes available for members.

F45 Training

If Mark Whalberg does it, it must be good. F45 is a 45 minute functional workout that incorporates circuit and HIIT style workouts to help you break a sweat. You can choose to come to a cardio, resistance or hybrid class – either way you’re guaranteed to leave class with your heart pumping.

GRIT BOX

With locations in both downtown Charleston and West Ashley, you can find a GRIT BOX close to you. This 45 minute kickboxing class will have you coming back for more, which is easy to do considering your first week of classes are free. No experience is necessary – just the drive to “ignite your inner warrior.”

HYLO Fitness

Once you experience HYLO Fitness, you’ll understand why they have won Best Fitness Studio for the past three straight years. The studio offers different classes that fall into the category of HI or LO. HI classes incorporate HIIT training aimed to burn fat and sculpt the body. LO classes are designed to balance your mind and muscles through more yoga-centered movement.

Pure Barre

Pure Barre’s low impact, high intensity workout is a favorite amongst many. Their workout encompasses small movements that effectively target your muscles and deliver a burn like no other. Pure Barre has three locations across Charleston – downtown, West Ashley and Mount Pleasant – and your first foundational class is free so, be sure to check it out.

Checkout ClassPass: Charleston’s New Way to Workout

If you’re a part of the Charleston fitness scene, you know it’s one of the best. There are so many amazing studios throughout this city and new ones popping up all the time (support local!). With a smorgasbord of amazing options, it’s likely you’ve wished once or twice you could dip your toe in everything. In just one monthly payment, you get to bounce from cycling to boxing to yoga instead of being committed to just one.

Sound too good to be true? Stay tuned. Here’s how it works. You can sign up for a membership where you get 20, 30 or 50 credits per month. The credits make up the “cost” of each class. So, 20 credits gets you 3-6 classes per month, 30 credits is 6-9 and 50 credits puts you in 9-15 classes every month. ClassPass gives you the flexibility to make your perfect workout schedule.

The best part? They have a free trial. That’s right, free trial. For an entire month, ClassPass will give you 40 credits, completely FREE!

That means that you can try out each and every studio and find out what works for you without committing. Once you’ve joined, the membership will auto renew each month but, because we all know life gets in the way sometimes, it is super simple to change or cancel your membership!

The only catch is that fitness studios have to elect to participate with ClassPass. That means not every studio in Charleston will be an option, but this list is pretty solid:

  • Charleston Power Yoga
  • The Works a Sweat Studio by Sarah Frick
  • HY | LO Fitness
  • Method Ride
  • CHS Revolution
  • Cyclebar
  • Barre South
  • Barre Evolution
  • The Barre Code
  • Burn Boot Camp
  • Devine Jiu Jitsu
  • Fit Mommy
  • International Pilates Center
  • CrossFit, Grit Box Fitness
  • TITLE boxing
  • Iron Tribe Fitness
  • O2 Fitness James Island
  • Charleston Community Yoga
  • Still Soul Studio

Not only does joining ClassPass give you access to over 20 different fitness options, but you can also stream workouts and it is now available in 50 cities! Click here to sign up.
