Charleston Music Hall Introduces Spring Outdoor Concert Series

Charleston Music Hall is bringing back their popular concert series, “Around the Bend.” The socially distanced outdoor concert series will begin on April 10th with a performance by Robert Earl Keen.

The concerts will take place at The Bend, located in North Charleston at 3775 Azalea Drive. Each concert will begin promptly at 7:30 pm but concertgoers can arrive as early as 6:00 pm. 

Concertgoers can also pre-order drinks that will be available in their very own cooler upon arrival. In addition, food and non-alcoholic beverages can be brought inside the venue area for patrons to enjoy.

Here’s the full lineup of concert series taking place this year:

  • April 10 – Robert Earl Keen
  • April 11 – Ranky Tanky
  • April 17 – Reggae Night at the Bend: Tribute to Toots & The Maytals
  • May 7 – Charlton Singleton and Friends present The Sizzling ‘70s
  • May 13 – Blackberry Smoke
  • May 14 – Yacht Rock Revue
  • May 22 – Old Crow Medicine Show
  • June 5 – The Steeldrivers

September is only a few days away and we can almost smell the pumpkin spice filling the fall air. Along with our favorite tasty coffee drink, September brings the first day of fall, college football, and a full social calendar. Here’s everything you need to do before the end of summer.

1. Ring in September with oysters, Naturdays, and Catalina wine mixers at Bay Street Biergarten on September 1.

2. Head to Daniel Island for a night of shopping, food and fun at the Daniel Island Night Market on September 6.

3. Honor the heroes of 9/11 at the 8th annual 9/11 heroes run on September 7.

4. Charleston Pride and Takeover Charleston are celebrating 10 years at Taco Boy downtown and you can join in on the fun on September 7 during the Takeover Taco Boy: Pride Week 2019 party.

5. Take an indigo dye class and discuss great literature at the Charleston County Public Library on September 7 at the Indigo Dye Class and Book Discussion.

6. Get your work out on at James Island County Park with a Paddle in the Park on September 8.

7. Sip and paint at West Ashley’s favorite brewery, Frothy Beard Brewing, for the weekly sip and paint Monday party. Oh and enjoy your first drink on Andre, September 9.

8. HOT DOG! It’s a coney dog cook-off at Indigo Reef Brewing Company on September 11 and you can be the judge.

9. Support Charleston Pride and enjoy tunes on September 13 during the second annual COLOR ME SILENT Headphone Party.

10. Expand your knowledge on craft beer at Drink History at Palmetto Brewing on September 13.

11. Fly over to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens on September 14 for the first ever Butterfly Bash.

12. Grab your best girl friends, put on some Lizzo, and head to Parcel 32 on September 17 for a Lowcountry Ladies Night Out!

13. Sing along to Kacey Musgraves on September 20 at her Oh, What A World tour stop at the Volvo Car Stadium.

14. Break out your scrunchies and slap bracelets and head downtown for a 90s bar crawl on September 21.

15. Enjoy some beer and barks at Reverly Brewing on September 21 at the Hoppy Tails Fundraiser benefitting the Charleston Animal Society.

September 14: Alan Jackson at North Charleston Coliseum

Alan Jackson is on his “Honky Tonk Highway Tour” and Charleston is his next stop. Cancel your usual Friday plans and come listen to country classics like Remember When, Where Were You and Living on Country. If you are a long-time country music lover, this concert is for you. With 34 number-one hit songs, Alan Jackson is sure to take your breath away when you hear him sing live. This 14,000-seat arena will be filling up fast with country music lovers from all over. So, get your tickets soon and watch this country music legend perform some of his hit songs.

September 16: Portugal. The Man at Family Circle Tennis Center

This band is best known for their hit “Feel it Still” and they’re still shocked at their success. By 2014, they had produced 7 albums together but didn’t see much response to their efforts until this year. “Feel It Still” was the most-Shazamed song for 7 weeks running, proving the song’s widespread appeal. Their music is best described as ‘indie rock’, but all kinds of music-lovers have an affinity to Portugal’s music.

Grab a ticket while you can because these hard-working Alaskan natives are getting big, and FAST. They will be performing in the 10,200-seat Volvo Car Stadium at Family Circle Tennis Center on Sunday, September 16.

September 27: Kane Brown and Chris Young at Family Circle Tennis Center

These two recently unknown artists are going to be playing for a huge audience at the Volvo Car Stadium at the end of September. Both artists are fairly new to the country scene but have gotten popular quickly. Their widespread fame stems from their relatable song lyrics and catchy beats. If you’re not into country oldies like those by Alan Jackson, give these two singers a chance. Their unique takes on country music have freshened up the country music scene and gained a wide and diverse audience. See what the buzz is all about next month at the Family Circle Tennis Center.
