Frothy Beard Brewing Company Announces New Brewery Location

Frothy Beard Brewing Company is expanding into Summerville! 

In a recent post on Facebook, Frothy Beard announced their expansion saying, “The partners of Frothy Beard Brewing Company are excited to announce that they have acquired Homegrown Brewhouse in Summerville with plans on converting it to a second location by a projected date of mid-June. Until then the establishment will continue operating as Homegrown Brewhouse.”

According to the post, the new brewery will have both a taproom and kitchen. “It will be open for lunch Friday through Sunday, dinner every night of the week, and will have a special Sunday brunch menu. The new location will be used to create special small batch beers in rotation with all the flagship Frothy beers beer nerds have come to love.”

Frothy Beard’s flagship brewery is on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard in West Ashley. This new location will be on S. Main Street in downtown Summerville.⁠

Every first Thursday of August, IPA lovers gather in celebration of National India Pale Ale Beer Day. Where will you be sipping in observation of the holiday? In order to make your selection simpler, we’ve rounded up the best local spots for craft beers, plus the fan-favorite flavors. 

Tattooed Moose

With a vast selection of beers, the Tattooed Moose has you covered from light to sour IPA’s. Local secret: you’ll want to pair your beverage with their beloved duck fries. The rotating draft selection is sure to please your taste buds this holiday. You can enjoy their selection via patio or pick-up from 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. at 1137 Morrison Drive. 

The Pour House

Lovers of live music are welcomed to gather at this outdoor eatery. This Thursday you can expect performances from Blacknoyze, free of entry. You’ll want to order a cold craft brew, considering how reasonable the prices are. Their quintessential outdoor patio, located at 1977 Maybank Hwy, will be practicing social distancing during all open hours of 4 p.m. – 1 a.m.

Chase your IPA at Frothy Beard with a monster slice of their famous pizza pie. Open for delivery, take-out, and indoor social distancing, you won’t want to stop sipping their menu of crafts. Located at 1401 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charlestonians are welcome to stop in from 12 p.m – 9 p.m.

Bay Street Biergarten

What better place for cold IPA than at Charleston’s favorite Biergarten? With a vast selection of craft brews and a gorgeous outdoor patio, Bay Street’s got you covered this National IPA Day. The garden is open from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. at 549 E Bay St.

Revelry Brewing Co.

If you’ve been to Charleston then you’ve heard the rage of Revelry Brewing Co. Their IPA selection is top-notch. Pair their beers with a stunning rooftop view, and you’re sure to celebrate the holiday in style. Guests are welcome at 10 Conroy St, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
