Frothy Beard Brewing Company Announces New Brewery Location

Frothy Beard Brewing Company is expanding into Summerville!

In a recent post on Facebook, Frothy Beard announced their expansion saying, “The partners of Frothy Beard Brewing Company are excited to announce that they have acquired Homegrown Brewhouse in Summerville with plans on converting it to a second location by a projected date of mid-June. Until then the establishment will continue operating as Homegrown Brewhouse.”

According to the post, the new brewery will have both a taproom and kitchen. “It will be open for lunch Friday through Sunday, dinner every night of the week, and will have a special Sunday brunch menu. The new location will be used to create special small batch beers in rotation with all the flagship Frothy beers beer nerds have come to love.”

Frothy Beard’s flagship brewery is on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard in West Ashley. This new location will be on S. Main Street in downtown Summerville.

Be sure to follow Frothy Beard on social media for updates on the new brewery!

Cluster Shuck Frothy Beard Brewing

A Cluster Shuck At Frothy Beard Brewing

What’s better than an oyster roast with beer? How about oysters in your beer?

Frothy Beard Brewing Company, known for its awesome taproom and creative concoctions, has just re-released our favorite named Charleston beer – Cluster Shuck.

Head brewer Joey Siconolfi says the briny, silk and toasty beer is a 6% stout with flaked barley and oats. The oysters are from Ebb and Flow Oysters in McClellanville. You can get the beer at their West Ashley taproom and in to-go growlers, half growlers and crowlers. Unfortunately, Oyster Shuck isn’t being canned for distribution in 2020 but we sure are hoping for it in 2021. Trust us… it’s worth the trip to West Ashley.

Frothy Beard isn’t the only brewery experimenting with everyone’s favorite low country delicacy. You can typically get an oyster stout this time of year at Coast, Holy City, Low Tide, and Freehouse breweries.

Folly Gras

Join Charleston’s Largest Mardi Gras Celebration This Weekend At Folly Gras

Couldn’t quite swing the trip down to New Orleans this year? No worries! Charleston knows how to throw a good Mardi Gras celebration too.

The largest Mardi Gras in Charleston, Folly Gras, is back this Saturday and every year the festival brings thousands of people to the city of Folly Beach annually.

The festival includes local vendors, crafts, live music, drink specials, and an all around good time. There will be three stages with different musical acts including Candy Cigarettes, Dangermuffin, Sundy Ledford, and more.

Festivities begin at 10am on Saturday the 23rd with the Folly Gras parade, and wrap up around 4pm. Admission is $10 per person but free for Folly Beach residents and children. Parking is limited so the city of Folly Beach is encouraging visitors to take Lyft or Uber; Lyft coupons will be available at the festival.

Check out this video to see some highlights from Folly Gras last year!

If you’re looking for a fun filled day with great energy and crazy costumes then Folly Gras is definitely the event for you!

Looking to keep the party going? here are other Mardi Gras celebrations also happening in Charleston in the coming weeks at The Royal American, Lola Cajun Food, and Frothy Beard Brewing Company!

Charleston Brewery Named Finalist For State Brewery of The Year

Featured Image Credit: Frothy Beard Brewing

South Carolina is fortunate to play host to numerous, innovative companies. One such company, Charleston’s own Frothy Beard Brewing, has been named a finalist for “Brewery of the Year” in the annual South Carolina Branded awards.

As one of only three finalists in the category, along with RJ Rockers Brewing Company and Cottontown Brew Lab, Frothy Beard beat out dozens of its craft competitors to gain a coveted spot among brewery nominees.

Frothy Beard officially began brewing in 2013 and has quickly become not only a local Charleston favorite, but a South Carolina favorite as well.

So, what makes Frothy Beard so great? If you ask them, the brewery was  “Grown out of a passion for creativity, culinary arts, zombies, epic novels, board games, the outdoors, and beer.”

Having moved into its new brewing space located in the Publix shopping center at 1401 Sam Rittenberg Blvd in 2017, brewing capacity has increased by more than 400% in an effort to keep up with demand. Currently, the brewery keeps close to twenty beers on tap with more available. From Pale Ales to Porters, Belgian Tripels to Kettle Sours, they have something for everyone.

Can’t decide which one to choose? No worries, they offer flights so you really can have it all!

Check out some of their beers below:

See their whole list of beers here: https://frothybeard.com/all-beers/

Voting for nominees takes place at http://scbranded.com/vote-for-your-favorites/ with the winners being announced at the SC Branded’s awards banquet in November.

So, be sure to represent Charleston and good beer, by voting for Frothy Beard in the “Brewery of the Year” category TODAY!
