It’s easy to fall into the same routine of work, dinner, and Netflix, but Charleston is a city full of date night options. Whether you’re a new couple who is exploring the city together or a married couple of many years looking for a day of relaxation, we’ve got a date idea here for you. Here are four must-do “date nights”.

The Adventurous Couple

What better way to spend some quality time together than taking an adventurous weekend getaway to Edisto Beach State Park? Grab your tent, a sleeping bag, and enjoy a weekend “roughing it” at Edisto Beach. During the day you can bike, fish, swim, kayak, and roam the trails, and at night you can relax by the fire and watch the sunset together.

The Foodie Couple

There’s no better place to go on a date and explore the culinary scene than in Charleston. Whether you want to enjoy some of the best food Charleston has to offer or learn some tips to take home, the Holy City has a ton of options. Our choice for best date night? Enjoy a steak from Halls Chophouse, grab some drinks from Hotel Bennett’s champagne bar, Camellias, then finish the night off with dessert from Kaminsky’s.  If you’re looking for something more interactive, you and your bae can take a cooking class at Zero George Street and take your tips home to the kitchen.

The Laid Back Couple

We totally get it, binge-watching Netflix in bed is hard to beat but Charleston has plenty of date activities for those couples who want to relax but are looking to get out of the house. Head to the beach for a relaxing day and grab some drinks from a nearby restaurant like Taco Boy at Folly Beach or Mex1 at Sullivan’s. Or splurge a little and head to the spa at Hotel Bennett for ultimate relaxation.

5 Places To Detox And De-stress After The Holidays

Featured Image Credit: Earthling Day Spa Facebook

The holidays are a time to spend with family and celebrate the end of the year and the coming of a new one. However, they can also be stressful and overindulgent. From organizing parties and buying gifts to traveling all over, the holiday season can take its toll. And if you’ve imbibed a little too much over the festive period, you might not be feeling so great. For de-stressing and detoxing to start off the new year, try one of these five places.

Aqua Vitae iVitality Spa

This isn’t your typical spa. Instead of standard facials and massages, you’ll find hormone therapy, IV nutrient therapy and more. They also have services like fractional resurfacing, scar removal, laser hair removal, laser skin rejuvenation, and fillers. For a holiday detox, try the iRecover, or iRevive IV therapy.

The Woodhouse Day Spa

The Woodhouse Day Spa is in Mount Pleasant, so it’s a great option for those looking to de-stress and detox east of the Cooper River. They have massages, manicures, pedicures, sleep treatments, waxing, facials and other skin care treatments. And if you want to make a day of it, try one of their packages.

Stella Nova

Whether you go to Stella Nova for a haircut or a spa treatment, you’re sure to get some stress out. They have a spa menu of facials, scrubs, wraps, and waxing. If you’re feeling a little winter white then try out their Bronze Star Glow, which includes a Stellar Salt Scrub with massage and a precise application of self-tanning lotion. You even get a tube of the lotion to take home.

Earthling Day Spa

Earthling Day Spa is located in historic downtown on East Bay Street. And this isn’t just a great place massage, facials, and other body treatments. You can work on your flexibility and core strength with one of their Pilates sessions. Get a private session, a session with a partner, or arrange a private mat class with a group of friends.

The Spa at Belmond Charleston Place

Get a luxurious spa treatment in the heart of downtown Charleston at Charleston Place. Their services include manicures, pedicures, facials, body scrubs, massages and more. If your skin is showing signs of fatigue after the holiday rush then try the Intraceuticals Oxygen Treatment which revives and plumps the skin instantly.

Best Places To Destress In Charleston

Featured Image Credit: http://mexicobeach.com/
Even though Charleston is one of the best cities in the world to live in (if not THE best), day to day life here can get a little stressful. Fear not dear Charlestonians, our city is home to plenty of places where you can de-stress. So visit one or more of the below places to get refreshed and recharged so you can take on the city again and again.

Botany Bay Plantation
Sometimes the best way to de-stress is to be one with nature. If you’re willing to go a little bit out of the way to visit Botany Bay Plantation on Edisto Island, you will be rewarded with beautiful surroundings when you arrive. The plantation has historic buildings and the entrance to the plantation is lined with picturesque oaks. But the real star of the show is the beach, with it’s deserted island feeling. The “skeletons” of trees and plenty of seashells line the beach giving it an eerie otherworldly feeling.

White Point Garden

When you’re looking for a place in the city to rid yourself of stress, a public park can do the trick. White Point Garden at the end of the battery is an ideal place to take a stroll and unwind. The park is 5.7 acres so you’ll have plenty of time to loosen up as you explore this gem in Charleston’s historic district. Throughout the park you’ll find monuments that mark our fair city’s history, giving you a reminder of why Charleston is so special.

The Spa at Belmond Charleston Place
A spa is a perfect destination for relaxation and de-stressing. This spa is located in the heart of Charleston at the beautiful Belmond Charleston Place, so it’s an oasis in the middle of all the city’s action. Patrons enjoy massages, manicures, pedicures, and other salon treatments at this luxurious locale. Make an appointment and prepare for pampering.

Folly Beach
When you’re looking to unwind Charleston style, head to the beach. Folly Beach is the quintessential beach town. It gives off laidback vibes and has been praised as one of the best beaches on the East Coast. When you’re not soaking up the sun on the actual beach, there are plenty of small shops and restaurants to keep you in that beachy keen mood.

King Street
With its hustle and bustle King Street may seem like an unlikely place to de-stress, but if retail therapy is the way you unwind, you can’t do better than this historic street. From big name retailers to small boutiques, you’ll find treasures all along the stretch of King Street. Whether you’re perusing upscale merchandise at the Shops at Belmond Charleston Place or searching for your new favorite read at Blue Bicycle books, the stores on King Street will satisfy your retail thirst. You’ll also find plenty of eateries and galleries to take a break from your shopping spree.
