Where to Vote Early or Absentee in Charleston County

With health concerns surrounding voting during the pandemic, many people are opting to vote early. Whether you are voting early through absentee ballots or in-person, here’s what you need to know.

Early Voting

Charleston County has four different voting locations for in-person absentee voting – North Charleston Coliseum, Seacoast Church Mt. Pleasant, Seacoast Church West Ashley, Main Library – Downtown. You do not have to complete an application before arriving for in-person absentee voting. Just arrive at one of the four locations between from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. In-person absentee voting will also be available on Saturday, October 24, and Saturday, October 31 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. However, all in-person absentee voting closes at 5:00 pm on November 2nd.

Absentee By Mail Voting

All registered voters are qualified to vote absentee this year due to the “State of Emergency” surrounding COVID-19. To do so, you must request your absentee ballot by 5:00 pm on October 24th by printing, signing, and returning the application. Once you receive your absentee ballot, be sure to fill it out completely and ensure you have a witness signature on your envelope. Return your ballot in-person or by mail before 7:00 pm on November 3rd.

No matter how you choose to do it, we encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote!
